A legend as old
as time itself,
So the story goes.
A noble prince
waged war against
the most dark and vile of foes.
Deep in the forest primeval
near the ancient spring.
Lived the fiercest dragon that e’er took wing
After conferring the wisest of hermits,
To end this dark beast’s reign.
Past efforts, ‘though valiant, alas, had been in vain
Until one day, the noble prince
bellowed a quest endeavored,
“I shall stand against this wyrm, until its life’s cord is severed
The battle turned out victorious
As prayers reached the patron saint,
the princess said, “Great job, dear, but the castle could use some paint.”
